A style of boots from The North Face have been recalled, according to a notice from the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission last week.
The women’s Shellista V Mid Waterproof boots were recalled because of the possibility that the hook of one boot could catch on the lace of the other boot, which the CPSC said posed a fall risk to the consumer.
About 15,200 pairs of boots were sold in the U.S, in addition to about 5,900 in Canada, per the notice. Customers are entitled to a refund.
A spokesperson for The North Face said the company was working to address the matter swiftly, and customers can contact the company for assistance.
“We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and remain deeply committed to the quality, performance, and trust our customers expect from The North Face,” the spokesperson said in an email.

The boots, which came in four colorways, originally sold for $165. They are currently listed as out of stock on The North Face website. Federal law prohibits the sale of products with an ordered recall from the CPSC, per a news release.
In VF’s most recent quarterly earnings report, The North Face logged revenue of about $1.3 billion, a 5% increase year over year.
