Reebok and Juicy Couture, both owned by Authentic Brand Group, are collaborating on a capsule collection inspired by Y2K, according to a release sent to Fashion Dive.
The limited-edition line features five footwear styles and eight pieces of apparel, and blends Juicy’s pink and black velour and rhinestone looks with Reebok’s archival silhouettes, per the release. Prices range from $30 to $110, according to a company spokesperson, and the collection will be available beginning July 24 on Reebok’s e-commerce website and at select retailers.
“We continue to see consumer excitement around products with a nod to nostalgia and an emphasis on trends from the 90s and early 2000s,” Stefani Fleurant, executive vice president, sports and lifestyle marketing at Authentic, said in the release. “By blending Reebok’s athletic heritage with Juicy Couture’s bold style, we’re creating something totally new for consumers. It goes to show the lasting impact of both these iconic brands.”
Included in the capsule collection are special editions of Reebok’s Classic Slide sandal, Classic Leather SP Extra sneaker and BB 4000 Mid ll basketball high top, as well as a tracksuit, graphic T-shirt and bodysuit that combine elements of both brands.
Authentic expanded its already-extensive portfolio with the acquisition of HanesBrands’ Champion in June and Wolverine World Wide’s Sperry in January. The company, which is known for buying struggling brands, currently has 62 properties under its umbrella, including Ted Baker, Barneys New York, Hunter, Vince and Boardriders.
Earlier this year, the privately-owned company also expanded its global reach with new hires to lead business development in Australia and New Zealand and a new regional general manager in Africa.
