Lee has launched a collaboration with Crocs-owned footwear brand Heydude, per a Tuesday press release.
The seven-piece line features footwear, shorts, tops and a reversible bucket hat, and features men’s, women’s and unisex styles. In a first for the Kontoor-owned denim brand, the full collaboration is available via Amazon. Additionally, the entire line will be offered on Lee’s e-commerce site and the footwear will be sold on Heydude’s e-commerce site. Prices range from $30 to $75, according to Lee’s e-commerce site.
Items in the collection include versions of Heydude’s Wally shoe for men and its Wendy shoe for women, both of which feature collab-specific footbed illustrations. Men’s and women’s carpenter shorts are styled with blue railroad stripe details, while a unisex graphic T-shirt is offered in pink or white and a unisex graphic tank is offered in gray. The blue-and-white hat also features graphics from the line.
Heydude was the “ideal partner” to help Lee create a denim-themed shoe, said Joe Broyles, vice president of global collaborations at Lee, in the release.
“The brand’s popularity and focus on playful comfort resonates with our customer, and we’re excited to add tops and shorts — a full lifestyle approach — to this capsule,” Broyles said.
Marketing for the campaign features actor Chase Stokes, who is the current ambassador for Heydude.
Crocs, which acquired Heydude in 2021, has been struggling with the brand. The company lowered its expectations for the brand in May, and projected sales would fall between 8% and 10%, compared to a February forecast that predicted sales would be flat or slightly up. In Q1, Heydude year-over-year revenue fell 17.2% to $195 million.
Meanwhile, revenue at Lee fell 9% in the first quarter, with the brand’s U.S. revenue falling 12% for the period.
