Dive Insight:
Jil Sander and the other brands that make up the core of OTB Group’s luxury business – Maison Margiela and Marni – are reaping the benefits of the current quiet luxury trend that has been gaining traction.
Total net sales for the period were $1.8 billion (1.6 billion euros), a 12% increase over the prior year, which leaders attributed to the luxury business.
“Jil Sander has an outstanding growth potential,” Ubaldo Minelli said in the news release. “Luca Lo Curzio is an executive of international calibre and I trust he will be able to accompany the brand along its new growth path.”
The 2022 fiscal year also marked Jil Sander’s first full year integrated into OTB, following its acquisition in early 2021. The brand saw growth of 61%, according to the company’s press release on financial results.
Lo Curzio joined Zegna in 2016 as its chief marketing and digital officer. Prior to Zegna, Lo Curzio held positions with Luxottica Group, Bain & Company, Danone and L’Oréal.
Zegna is also growing and reported 2022 revenue of about $1.6 billion (1.5 billion euros), up 15.5% year-over-year.
Nilly Foster, previously with Christian Dior, will take over Lo Curzio’s position at Zegna, according to a report from WWD.
