Outerwear brand Hawke & Co. will relaunch following owner Michael Rosenberg gaining full control of the company, according to a press release Monday.
The company plans to release products that integrate “the latest in fabric technology, sustainability practices, and design versatility,” per the release. The brand hired Michael Macko as fashion director, who previously worked at Saks Fifth Avenue and menswear magazine “Details.”
The company also named Blair Harrison-Carp as president of sales and planning, according to the release. Harrison-Carp has been with the brand since 2020, according to LinkedIn.
The outerwear brand was originally founded by Rosenberg’s grandfather in 1958. It cited various challenges ahead of the relaunch, including “the Covid pandemic and legal disputes.”
From 2020 to 2022, Hawke & Co.’s holding company Zee Co. Apparel was involved in bankruptcy litigation. Michael Rosenberg was also involved in litigation with his brother Aron Rosenberg over the Hawke & Co. New York trademarks, after the two had various business disputes, according to court documents.
The relaunch follows Rosenberg obtaining full ownership of Hawke & Co. in 2023. He is now the sole owner.
Hawke & Co. will open a new space in New York City’s Garment District, which will be designated as both a design studio and a showroom. The space will host art exhibitions, salons and popup shops, according to the release.
Both the physical and digital stores will include Hawke & Co. collections, third-party brands and curated vintage items.
Hawke & Co. seeks to differentiate itself by manufacturing its products globally to “ensure our customers get the highest quality and most affordable jackets without excessive markups,” Rosenberg said in the release.
The brand introduced a packable jacket in 2013, which became the company’s best selling item. The brand also has a partnership with Israel’s Winter Olympic team for the 2026 Olympics.
