Carven has confirmed Mark Thomas as its director of design, according to an Instagram post from the company.
Thomas succeeds Louise Trotter, who announced in December that she would leave her role as creative director of Carven to take on the role of creative director of Kering-owned Bottega Veneta. She started her new position in January.
Thomas first joined the brand in 2023 as head of sartorial and creative collaborations, per his LinkedIn page. Prior to joining Carven, he worked as design director of the men’s show and global collections at Lacoste. Thomas spent more than two years as creative director of Helmut Lang. He also worked in creative design roles at Joseph, Givenchy and Neil Barrett.
“The Carven team continues to build on the foundations and refine the codes and style forged for the house,” the company said in its announcement. “Carven’s future activities will be announced in due course”
The company added that Thomas’ first show will be presented in Paris for the spring-summer 2026 season.
France-based fashion house Carven was founded in 1945 and filed for bankruptcy protection in 2018. Later that year, it was acquired by Shanghai-based Icicle Fashion Group, which relaunched the brand, first in China and later in Paris.
