Avery Baker has officially stepped down as president and chief brand officer at Tommy Hilfiger after more than 20 years with the brand.
PVH Corp., owner of Tommy Hilfiger, confirmed Baker’s impending departure to Fashion Dive in April. At the time, the company didn’t say whether it would seek to replace Baker.
“After a great deal of soul searching, I have decided it is time to end my journey with Tommy Hilfiger after 24 years to start a new chapter in my life,” Baker wrote on LinkedIn Tuesday.
Baker held the president and chief brand officer role from 2020. She started with the brand in 1998, serving in various positions, including chief marketing officer. She stepped away in mid-2019, saying she wanted to spend more time with her family before being rehired in November 2020.
“When Martijn [Hagman] asked me to partner with him in 2020 to build the next era of the brand, we knew we would have to navigate some challenging times to lead the brand and the business through the pandemic and its aftermath,” Baker wrote. “I’m very grateful for the opportunity and proud of the work we have done to transform the company and create new foundations for the future.
“My experiences at Tommy have had a lasting impact on me professionally and personally. I am incredibly thankful to have contributed to the extraordinary growth and expansion of this iconic global brand, and for the incredible memories we have created together along the way.”
Hagman continues to oversee Tommy Hilfiger as CEO of Tommy Hilfiger Global and PVH Europe.
